This Smokey Bourbon Bacon KC BBQ Sauce is sweet with a hint of spicy heat, a kiss of Smokey bacon and a splash of bourbon. This is a thick and rich sauce that is good on beef, pork, chicken and your fingers!

Kansas City BBQ sauce is a delicious, super simple and beautiful sauce that goes well with anything on the grill. There is no right or wrong way to make your own BBQ sauce. BBQ sauce is like Salsa, every family has their own recipe. They all have the same basic building blocks of tomato sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar and molasses. By adding or changing some of the ingredients you can create a whole new sauce of your own.

Ingredients: Smokey Bourbon Garlic K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

  • 3 cups Garlic & Onion pasta sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 ¼ cups brown sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups Apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup molasses
  • ½ cup Bourbon
  • ¼ cup bacon drippings
  • 2 Tbsp. tamarind paste
  • 2 Tbsp. smoked minced garlic (we smoke our garlic, use what you have)
  • 1 Tbsp. hickory-flavored liquid smoke
  • 1 Tbsp. dried minced onion
  • 1 tsp. Chipotle chili powder
  • 1 tsp. smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp. sea salt
  • 1 tsp. coarse ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp. cayenne pepper


    Cooking Directions:
    Smokey Bourbon Bacon KC BBQ Sauce

    Place all of your ingredients into a heavy saucepan and simmer until blended. Slowly bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered until thick and richly flavored, about 15 minutes or so, stirring often.
